In the late 70’s, I started a new ritual. I didn’t like saying goodbye, so I started to say, “good energy to you“. Something often lingers, is it ever really a goodbye?
Decades later, when I was a resident artist at a local hospital, I worked with a woman who couldn’t move from the neck down. But she loved looking at the colours and movement of the paintbrush as I painted.
The next day, I came back with a clean scarf and wrapped it around her. The look on her face said everything. She was mesmerized.
I had always been curious about animating my paintings and this was the turning point.
I had discovered a way for my paintings to be touchable. For them to be the “good energy” that lingers on.
Imagine a painting coming away from itself, and hugging you with its colours. So that’s what my scarves are. And now, it’s my pleasure to share these scarves with you. You can explore the collection here.
