This painting captures a profound moment I had during one of my sessions at the geriatrics department at the University of Alberta Hospital. Having shared with the recreation therapist an awareness that the nerves from the neck carry to the hand. Through the hand is also the heart. Let the hand move. A delicate, tender process of the relationship and environment. I was the staff artist on the ward. The patient had constant pain. Her whole body relaxed when we worked together to set this space.
